A My Little Pony Christmas

(Opening. The Little Ponies gather at the Baby Bonnet School of Dance for a Christmas show that most of them are putting on. Firefly flies out to the stage, wearing a red scarf and Santa hat)

Firefly: Welcome, Little Ponies, to our Christmas show! (Little Ponies cheer) Our first act on the agenda is our rendition of the holiday classic, "Jingle Bells!"

(Ponies cheer, as Fizzy and Gusty walk out onto the stage, ready to sing)

Fizzy and Gusty: Dashing through the snow

In a one horse open sleigh

O'er the fields we go

Laughing all the way

Fizzy: Ha, ha, ha!

Both: (Gusty gives Fizzy a funny look, and continue singing)

Bells on bobtails ring

Making spirits bright

Oh what fun it is to sing

A sleighing song tonight

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to ride

In a one horse open sleigh

Hey!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to ride

In a one horse open sleigh

Gusty: Now onto the second verse.

Both: (slower) A day or two ago

I thought I'd take a ride

And soon Miss Fanny Bright

Fizzy: What a name.

Gusty: Tell me about it!

Both: (continue singing) Was seated by my side

The horse was lean and lank

Misfortune seemed his lot

(speed it up a little!)
We got into a drifted bank

And then we were upsot!

Gusty: (confused) Upsot?

Both: (continue the song)
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh

Hey!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh!

Fizzy: That was nice. Now let's rock!

Gusty: Yeah!

Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell

Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle Bells swing and Jingle Bells ring

Snowin' and blowin'

A bushel of fun

Now the Jingle Hop has begun

Fizzy: Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell

Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle Bells chime in Jingle Bell time

Dancin' and prancin'

In Jingle Bell Square

In the frosty air!

Gusty: What a bright time it's the right time

To rock the night away

Fizzy: Jingle Bell time is a swell time

To go riding in a one horse sleigh

Giddy up Jingle Horse

Kick up your feet

Jingle around the clock

Gusty: Mix and mingle in a jingling beat

That's the Jingle Bell Rock!

Fizzy: What a bright time it's the right time

To rock the night away

Gusty: Jingle Bell time is a swell time

To go riding in a one horse sleigh

Giddy up jingle horse

Kick up your feet

Jingle around the clock

Fizzy: Mix and mingle in a jingling beat

That's the Jingle Bell

Gusty: That's the Jingle Bell

Both: That's the Jingle Bell Rock!

(Fizzy and Gusty take their bows as all the little ponies cheer for them. Firefly returns out to the stage)

Other Ponies: (loudly) YOURS!

Firefly: (smiles sheepishly) Oh yeah. Heh heh. I forgot. (clears throat) Okay, next on our program, a little song from Bow Tie, featuring the song being played out by Applejack as Santa Claus, and the Pegasus Ponies as the reindeer, with Spike as Rudolph.

(Bow Tie starts singing, and the ponies and Spike act out the song)

Bow Tie: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Had a very shiny nose

And if you ever saw it

You would even say it glows

All of the other reindeer

Used to laugh and call him names

They never let poor Rudolph

Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Santa came to say

"Rudolph with your nose so bright

Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then how the reindeer loved him

As they shouted out with glee

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

You'll go down in history

(Surprise walks in, unknown to Bow Tie, and winks at the audience)

Bow Tie: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Surprise: Reindeer

Bow Tie: Had a very shiny nose

Surprise: Like a light bulb

Bow Tie: And if you ever saw it

Surprise: Saw it

Bow Tie: You could even say it glows

Surprise: Like a light bulb

Bow Tie: All of the other reindeer

Surprise: Reindeer

Bow Tie: Used to laugh and call him names

Surprise: Like Dumbo

Bow Tie: They never let poor Rudolph

Surprise: Rudolph

Bow Tie: Join in any reindeer games

Surprise: Like Monopoly!

Bow Tie: Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Santa came to say

Surprise: Ho, ho, ho!

Bow Tie: "Rudolph with your nose so bright

Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then how the reindeer loved him

Surprise: Loved him

Bow Tie: As they shouted out with glee

Surprise: With glee!

Bow Tie: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Surprise: Reindeer

Bow Tie: You'll go down in history

Surprise: Like George Washington!

Bow Tie: (positively steamed) SURPRISE WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! YOU JUST RUINED MY SONG!

Surprise: I thought it would be a neat surprise!

Bow Tie: Well, I'll show you a surprise! (begins chasing Surprise off the stage, and both of them are yelling and screaming)

Firefly: (clears throat) Uhhh, okay, fine. Next up, Shady and Gusty, singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."

Shady: Oh you'd better watch out

Gusty: WATCH OUT!

Shady: You'd better not cry

Gusty: Waaahhh!

Shady: You'd better not pout

Gusty: (pouts) Hmph!

Shady: I'm telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list

He's checking it twice

Gonna find out who's

Naughty or nice

Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when your sleeping

(Gusty snores)

He knows when you're awake

Gusty: WAKE UP!

Shady: He knows if you've been bad or good

Gusty: So be good for goodness sake

Shady: Oh you'd better watch out

You'd better not cry

You'd better not pout

I'm telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town

Gusty: With little tin horns

And little toy drums

Rooty toot-toots

And rummy-tum-tums (stops singing for a moment) Who wrote this song anyway?

Shady: Just keep going.

Gusty: (continues singing) Santa Claus is coming to town

With curly head dolls

That toddle and coo

Elephants, boats

And kiddie cars too

Santa Claus is coming to town

Both: The kids in girl and boy land

Will have a jubilee

They're gonna build a Toyland town

All around the Christmas tree

Shady: Oh you'd better watch out

Gusty: You'd better not cry

Shady: You'd better not pout

I'm telling you why

Both: Santa Claus is coming to town!

Firefly: Very nice. Next something for the younger generation. Here is Baby Surprise.

Baby Surprise: I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Underneath the mistletoe last night

She didn't see me creep

Down the stairs to have a peep

She thought that I was tucked up

In my bedroom fast asleep

I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus

Underneath his beard so snowy white

Oh what a laugh it would have been

If Daddy had only seen

Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night

Firefly: Awww, isn't she cute? (audience murmurs in agreement) Okay, next up, here is Baby Tiddley Winks, with another cute little Christmas song.

Baby Tiddley Winks: (spoken) 'Twas the night before Christmas

And all through the house

Not a creature was stirring

Not even a mouse

When suddenly I heard

A strange noise down below

So in my flannel pajamas

I went tippy toe

I didn't see or hear Santa

From the sight where I stood

So I slid down the banister

As fast as I could

(slides down a prop banister, and crashes into a prop Christmas tree and presents, and other noise making knick knacks)

All I want for Christmas

Is my two front teeth

My two front teeth

See my two front teeth

Gee if I could only have

My two front teeth

Then I could wish you

Merry Christmas

It seems so long since I could say

Sister Suzy Sitting on a Thistle

Every time I try to speak

All I do is whistle

SSSSS!

All I want for Christmas

Is my two front teeth

My two front teeth

See my two front teeth

Gee if I could only have

My two front teeth

Then I could wish you

Merry Christmas

(picks up a kazoo and begins playing "Jingle Bells" on it)

All I want for Christmas

Is my two front teeth

My two front teeth

See my two front teeth

Gee if I could only have

My two front teeth

Then I could wish you

Merry Christmas

Christmas!

Oh for goodness sakes!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Firefly: All our apologies to Spike Jones for that one! Okay, next up in our show, a little song from the Twinkle Eye Ponies. And may we apologize to the Drifters in advance!

(Whizzer, Sweet Stuff, Masquerade, and Gingerbread walk out on the stage, dressed in metallic green suits and black metallic ties)

Masquerade: Doo doo dee doo

Others: Dit, dit, dit, dit-dit

Masquerade: Doo doo dee doo

Others: Dit, dit, dit, dit-dit (they continue this while Masquerade's singing)

Masquerade: I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

Just like the ones I used to know

Where the treetops glisten

And children listen

To hear sleigh bells in the snow

The snow

Then I yi yi yi'm dreaming of a white Christmas

With every Christmas card I write

May your days, may your days, may your days be merry and bright

And may all your Christmases be white

Gingerbread: I yi yi yi'm dreaming of a white Christmas

Just like the ones I used to know

Where the treetops glisten

And ohhh! Children listen

To hear sleigh bells in the snow

Masquerade: Dooby dooby dooby

Gingerbread: I yi yi yi'm dreaming of a white Christmas

With every Christmas card I write

Masquerade: May those days, may your days, may your days be merry and bright

Others: Ooooh oooh oooh ooooh oooh!

Masquerade: And may all your Christmases

Be white

Others: Jingle bells

Jingle bells

Jingle all the way

Oooooohhhhhhh!

Firefly: Thank you, Big Brother Ponies. (rolls eyes) Sheesh. Well, back to the baby ponies. And again, we must apologize in advance to the Chipmunks, and Dave Seville.

(Ember, Baby Moondancer, and Baby Gory take the stage)

Baby Ponies: Christmas Christmastime is here

Time for toys and time for cheer

We've been good but we can't last

Hurry Christmas hurry fast

Want a plane that loops the loop

Baby Glory: Me I want a hula hoop

Baby Ponies: We can hardly stand the wait

Please Christmas don't be late

Firefly: Okay girls, get ready. That was very good Ember.

Ember: Thanks.

Firefly: Very good Baby Moondancer.

Baby Moondancer: Hee, hee, hee!

Firefly: Baby Glory, you were a little flat, watch it.

Baby Glory: Okay.

Baby Ponies: Want a plane that loops the loop

Baby Glory: I still want a hula hoop!

Baby Ponies: We can hardly stand the wait

Please Christmas don't be late

We can hardly stand the wait

Please Christmas don't be late

Firefly: Very good, girls. Now, here is Applejack, singing her rendition of a comedic Christmas song, with a little help from all the other little ponies. Your guess is as good as mine.

Applejack: I broke my bat on Johnny's head

Galaxy: YEEEOUCH!

Applejack: Somebody snitched on me!

I hid a frog in sister's bed

Heart Throb: EEEEEEEK!

Applejack: Somebody snitched on me!

I spilled some ink on Mommy's rug (spills some ink)

I made Tommy eat a bug

Buttons: Bleah!

Applejack: Bought some gum with a penny slug

Somebody snitched on me

So I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas

Mommy and Daddy are mad (Moondancer and Glory begin yelling gibberish)

I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas

Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad!

I put a tack on teacher's chair

Twilight: YEEEAAAAUUGGGHHH!

Applejack: Somebody snitched on me!

I tied a knot in Susie's hair

Fizzy: Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!

Applejack: Somebody snitched on me!

Did a dance on Mommy's plants (dances on some potted plants)

Climbed a tree and tore my pants

Filled the sugar bowl with ants

Somebody snitched on me

So I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas

Mommy and Daddy are mad Moondancer and Glory begin yelling gibberish)

I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas

Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad

I won't be seeing Santa Claus

Skydancer: Ho, ho, ho!

Applejack: Somebody snitched on me!

He won't come visit me because

Skydancer: Aw, forget it!

Applejack: Somebody snitched on me!

Next year I'll be going straight (straightens a bent pipe cleaner)

Next year I'll be good just wait (Halo lights up over head)

I'd start now but it's too late

Others: (sarcastically) Aaawwww!

Applejack: Somebody snitched on me!

So I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas

Mommy and Daddy are mad Moondancer and Glory begin yelling gibberish)

I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas

Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad

Firefly: She's been a baaaaad boy! I mean girl! Anybody in the mood for something a little more serious? (audience murmurs) I thought so. Next, the lovely and talented Miss Posey!

Posey: The holly and the ivy

When they are both full grown

Of all the trees that are in the wood

The holly bears the crown

The rising of the sun

And the running of the deer

The playing of the merry organ

Sweet singing in the choir

The rising of the sun

And the running of the deer

The playing of the merry organ

Sweet singing in the choir

Firefly: Let's have another one like that. Here is Morning Glory!

Morning Glory: City sidewalks busy sidewalks

Dressed in holiday style

In the air there's a feeling

Of Christmas

Children laughing people passing

Meeting smile after smile

And on every street corner

You hear

Silver bells

Silver bells

It's Christmas time

In the city

Ring-a-ling

Hear them ring

Soon it will be Christmas day

Silver bells

Flutter Ponies: Silver bells

Morning Glory: Silver bells

Flutter Ponies: Silver bells

Morning Glory: It's Christmas time in the city

Ring-a-ling

Flutter Ponies: Ring-a-ling

Morning Glory: Hear them ring

Flutter Ponies: Hear them ring

Morning Glory: Soon it will be Christmas day

Soon it will be Christmas day

Firefly: Thank you Flutter Ponies. Now, for something a little different. We now bring you North Star, Magic Star, and Paradise.

Ponies: Here we come a-caroling

Among the leaves so green

Here we come a-wandering

So fair to be seen

Love and joy come to you

And to you a wassail too

Magic Star: What's a wassail?

Paradise: You got me.

Ponies: And God bless you

And send you a Happy New Year

And God send you a Happy New Year

North Star: I thought this was Christmas. Not New Years.

Magic Star: It's the way the song goes, I guess.

Firefly: I guess so, too. Okay, everybody, now we're going back to the cute stuff. Here is Sparkler, ready to entertain us.

Sparkler: Frosty the snowman

Was a jolly happy soul

With a corncob pipe and a button nose

And two eyes made out of coal

Frosty the snowman

Was a fairy tale they say

He was made of snow but the children know

How he came to life one day

There must have been some magic in

That old silk hat they found

For when they placed it on his head

He began to dance around

Frosty the snowman

Was alive as he could be

And the children say he could laugh and play

Just the same as you and me

Frosty the snowman

Knew the sun was hot that day

So he said let's run and we'll have some fun

Now before I melt away

Down through the village

With a broomstick in his hand

Running here and there all around the square

Saying catch me if you can

He led them down the streets of town

Right to the traffic cop

And he only paused a moment when

He heard him holler STOP!

Frosty the snowman

Had to hurry on his way

But he waved goodbye saying don't you cry

I'll be back again some day

Firefly: Thank you, Sparkler. Next up on our show, Moondancer.

Moondancer: Rockin' around the Christmas tree

At the Christmas party hop

Mistletoe hung where you can see

Every couple tries to stop

Rockin' around the Christmas tree

Let the Christmas spirit ring

Maybe we'll have some pumpkin pie

And we'll do some caroling

You will get a sentimental feeling

When you hear

Voices singing let's be jolly

Deck the halls with boughs of holly

Rockin' around the Christmas tree

Have a happy holiday

Everyone dancing merrily

In the new old fashioned way

Firefly: Okay, we're running out of songs here. Anybody got any ideas?

Surprise: I know a great one!

Grandma got run over by a reindeer

Firefly: (angrily) NO! I will not have that song in my Christmas show!

Surprise: Okay, then, I've got another one (begins singing in a very deep voice)

You're a mean one

Mr. Grinch

Firefly: (heaves a frustrated sigh) No, no, no! Doesn't anybody have a song?

Glory: I do. Here it goes!

Here comes Santa Claus

Here comes Santa Claus

Right down Santa Claus Lane

Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer

Pulling on the rein

Bells are ringing children singing

All is merry and bright

Surprise: Clocks

Glory: (gives Surprise a confused look, but keeps singing anyway)

Hang your stocking and say your prayers

Cause Santa Claus comes tonight

Here comes Santa Claus

Here comes Santa Claus

Right down Santa Claus Lane

He's got a bag that is filled with toys

For the boys and girls again

Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle

What a beautiful sight

Jump in bed cover up your head

Cause Santa Claus comes tonight

Here comes Santa Claus

Here comes Santa Claus

Right down Santa Claus Lane

He doesn't care if your rich or poor

For he loves you just the same

Santa knows that we're God's children

That makes everything right

Fill your hearts with Christmas cheer

Cause Santa Claus comes tonight

Here comes Santa Claus

Here comes Santa Claus

Right down Santa Claus Lane

He'll come around when the chimes ring out

Then it's Christmas morn again

Peace on Earth come to all if

We just follow the light

Let's give thanks to the Lord above

Cause Santa Claus comes tonight

Firefly: Thank you, Glory. You too, Surprise, although I'm not quite sure how clocks fit into that song. (gives the audience a confused look) Anyway . . . . . here is Buttons!

Buttons: Up on the housetop reindeer pause

Baby Moondancer: Reindeer have paws?

Baby Glory: Not that kind of paws, silly!

Without a single stop

By the fire place where

We'll watch the chestnuts pop

Other Ponies: Pop pop pop!

Bow Tie: There's a happy feeling nothing

In the world could buy

When we pass around the coffee and

The pumpkin pie

It'll be just like a picture print

By Courier and Ives

These wonderful things are the things

We remember all through our lives

Our cheeks are nice and rosy

And comfy and cozy are we

Other Ponies: Ring a ling a ling a ding dong ding

Baby Ponies: The toy shop door is locked up tight

And everything is quiet for the night

When suddenly the clock strikes twelve

The fun's begun

The dolls are in their best arrayed

It's going to be a wonderful parade

Hark to the drum oh here they come

Cries everyone

Here them all cheering

Now they are nearing

There's the captain stiff as starch

Bayonets flashing

Music is crashing

As the wooden soldiers march

Sabers are clinking

Soldiers are winking

At each pretty little maid

Half the Baby Ponies: Here they come

Here they come

Other Half: Here they come

All Baby Ponies: Wooden soldiers on parade

Surprise: (flying onto the stage, interrupting Firefly) Hey Firefly!

Firefly: (groans, and mumbles) Not again. (turns to Surprise) What is it now, Surprise?

Surprise: Can I please sing something! I have a good song, I promise!

Firefly: Are you sure it isn't (sings) Grandma got run over by a reindeer!

Surprise: No! I promise it isn't that. Come on, Firefly. This is tasteful, I promise!

Firefly: (sighs) Oh all right, Surprise, but if you mention anything about Grandmas and reindeer, you're gonna get it!

Surprise: I won't! I promise I won't!

Firefly: (muttering) If I know her, she'll sing something about getting a hippopotamus for Christmas or something like that, I don't know what I'm gonna do with her.

Surprise: Have yourself a merry little Christmas

Let your heart be light

From now on, our troubles will be

Out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas

Make the yuletide gay

From now on, our troubles

Will be miles away

Here we are as in olden days

Happy golden days of yore

Faithful friends who are dear to us

Gather near to us once more

Through the years we all will be together

If the fates allow

Hang a shining star atop the highest bough

And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Firefly: Gosh, Surprise, you really surprised me there!

Surprise: I'm just full of surprises! (giggles, and slides a box towards Firefly)

Firefly: (excited) For me?! Oh boy! (rips off the wrapping paper, and opens the box. A Santa Claus figure pops out and hits Firefly in the face with a pie)

Surprise: Wasn't that a great, SURPRISE?! (laughs, and flies off)

Firefly: I'll never learn, will I? (shakes banana cream off her face) Anyway, moving right along, here is Ribbon with another cute little number.

Ribbon: I walk along the city streets

As it's nearing Christmas day

And the falling snow is music to my ears

In the rumble of the subways

To the shoppers hustling by

There's a melody in everything I hear

It's like a Christmas serenade

Street musicians and the horse drawn sleighs

Colored street lights watch the world at play

A Christmas serenade

From the Santas on the corner

To the skaters in the park

Every sound's another symphony to me

I can hear the Christmas carols

From the children in the square

Singing songs of peace in perfect harmony

It's like a Christmas serenade

Street musicians and the horse drawn sleighs

Colored street lights watch the world at play

A Christmas serenade

Deep in my heart I can hear a song

Wish the feeling lasted all year long

It's like a Christmas serenade

Street musicians and the horse drawn sleighs

Colored street lights watch the world at play

A Christmas serenade

It's like a Christmas serenade

Street musicians and the horse drawn sleighs

Colored street lights watch the world at play

A Christmas serenade

Firefly: Well, we're coming to the end of our program. We hope you all enjoyed it. Let's get every pony on the stage for our big farewell!

Surprise: (jumps in front of Firefly, and begins to ham it up)

Grandma got run over by a reindeer . . . . .

Firefly: (extremely angry) I told you I didn't want that one on my program! (groans) Okay, every Pony. Sing it!

All: We wish you a Merry Christmas

We wish you a Merry Christmas

We wish you a Merry Christmas

And a Happy New Year

Good tidings we bring

To you and your kin

Good tidings for Christmas

And a Happy New Year

We wish you a Merry Christmas

We wish you a Merry Christmas

We wish you a Merry Christmas

And a Happy New Year

Unicorns: Oh give us some figgy pudding
