Sunny Girlfriend

It was just another normal day in Flutter Valley. The Flutter Ponies were flying around the Sun Stone, having fun.

"It's such a beautiful day!" Morning Glory shouted.

"Yes, it is," Honeysuckle had to agree. There were times where she didn't have patients for Morning Glory's cheerfulness.

The Flutter Ponies continued playing. Forget-Me-Not was flying high up when she saw Fizzy and Gusty along the path.

"Fizzy and Gusty are coming!" she called.

"I wonder what brings them here?" Peach Blossom asked. "We aren't having any celebration, are we?"

"Not unless Rosedust is having a surprise party," Honeysuckle said. Rosedust flew over to the other Flutter Ponies.

"They're probably just visiting, that's all," she said.

Fizzy and Gusty arrived at Flutter Valley and walked in.

"Hi, Flutter Ponies!" Fizzy said.

"Hello, Fizzy, Gusty," Rosedust said. "What brings you two here?"

"We want to introduce someone to you," Gusty said. "Come on in, guys!"

Surprise flew in, Davy riding her. She flew up and down and even upside down. Davy grabbed her neck.

"I thought Whizzer was the fast one!" he shouted.

"She is!" Surprise laughed. "But I'm the daredevil!"

"Flutter Ponies, meet the Monkees," Gusty said. "These are Davy, Micky, Mike, and Peter. Monkees, these are the Flutter Ponies. Rosedust, Peach Blossom, Forget-Me-Not, Honeysuckle, Morning Glory, and Lily."

"Hi," Peter said.

"How come your name is the monkeys?" Forget-Me-Not asked.

"'Cause people say we monkey around," Micky joked. Mike smacked him on the arm.

"It's spelled M-O-N-K-E-E-S," Mike said. "We're a band."

"A band of what?" Honeysuckle asked.

"We're a musical group," Davy clarified.

The Flutter Ponies finally got it. They invited Fizzy, Gusty, Surprise, and the Monkees to stay for a little while and play. Fizzy explained that she wanted the Monkees to meet all the little ponies' friends, and the Flutter Ponies were probably the only friends the Monkees hadn't met. So she sent Surprise, Medley, Skydancer, and Locket down to get the four of them.

"Remember that time winter nearly took over?" Gusty asked.

"Yes," Rosedust said.

"The Monkees helped us," Fizzy said. "They're really wonderful!"

"Where do you live, Monkees?" Rosedust asked.

"On the other side of the rainbow," Mike said.

"Where Megan lives?" Morning Glory asked.

"No," Davy said. "We live in a different time, so the ponies use the Rainbow of Light to get us. They follow it back to 1966."

The Flutter Ponies nodded. The sun was beginning to set, and the ponies had to get the Monkees back to their own time. The Flutter Ponies flew around Flutter Valley and to their sleeping quarters for the night. However, another Flutter Pony was watching them. She wanted to be queen of the Flutter Ponies, but Rosedust was already queen. However, this Flutter Pony was going to take care of that. Once the moon rose, she made her move. She made sure she had everything in her pouch and flew to find Rosedust. The Flutter Pony checked every single sleeping area (I don't know where the Flutter Ponies sleep at night) until she found Rosedust. She advanced toward her, and then Rosedust woke up.

"Who are you?" she asked the Flutter Pony.

"The queen of the Flutter Ponies," the Flutter Pony answered.

"What do you mean? I'm queen of the Flutter Ponies."

"Not for long, dearie."

The Flutter Pony reached in her pouch and took out a roll of duct tape. She managed to rip a long piece off and wrapped it around Rosedust's mouth. She couldn't open it. Then the Flutter Pony took some rope out of her pouch and managed to tie it around Rosedust's front and back legs. Then she used some more rope to tie down her wings. Then the Flutter Pony managed to get Rosedust on her back and took off.

The next morning, the other Flutter Ponies were flying around, making sure everything was in some kind of order when the strange Flutter Pony flew toward the Sun Stone.

"Greetings, Flutter Ponies," she said.

"Who are you?" Honeysuckle asked.

"My name's Sunny," the Flutter Pony said. "Queen Sunny to you."

"What do you mean Queen?" Peach Blossom asked. "Rosedust is our queen."

"Where is Rosedust anyway?" Forget-Me-Not asked.

"Oh nowhere," Sunny said. "I'm your queen, Flutter Ponies."

"I don't know about this," Honeysuckle said. "I don't trust her!"

"Is that anyway to talk to your queen?" Sunny asked. She looked at the other Flutter Ponies and her eyes began to look different.

"I am your queen," she said. Forget-Me-Not, Peach Blossom, and Honeysuckle looked into Sunny's eyes and began to feel different.

"All hail Sunny," they said. "Queen of the Flutter Ponies."

"I knew you'd see it my way," Sunny said. "Come, Flutter Ponies. You have some serving to do."

Apparently, Morning Glory and Lily weren't hypnotized. They waited until Sunny led the other Flutter Ponies away before they fled from Flutter Valley.

"I wonder what happened to Rosedust?" Morning Glory asked.

"I have a feeling that Sunny had something to do with her disappearance," Lily said. "We have to find her!"

"I know, Lily. But where is she?"

"I don't know. If you were an evil Flutter Pony who wanted to be queen, where would you hide the real queen?"

Morning Glory thought it over. She was at a loss and so was Lily. Then they decided to spy on Sunny. Maybe they'd learn something. That night, they watched Sunny leave Flutter Valley.

"Let's follow her," Lily whispered.

"Right," Morning Glory whispered back. The two Flutter Ponies took off and followed Sunny to a rock cliff by the ocean, away from Flutter Valley. Sunny pushed a rock and a door opened.

"Quick!" Lily said. "Before the door closes!"

Lily and Morning Glory made it inside the rock just in time. They staid close enough to Sunny to follow her, but far enough behind her so she didn't know she was being followed. Sunny walked into a room and smiled evilly.

"Well, Rosedust," she said. "I have control over your Flutter Ponies. They're all bowing at my hooves, taking my orders!"

Morning Glory and Lily gasped. They saw Rosedust somewhat tied up with duct tape over her mouth, preventing her to talk.

"What do you have to say to that?" Sunny asked. Rosedust try to say something, but all that came out were muffled shrieks. "I thought so. Don't count on anyone coming to your rescue, Rosedust. No one knows you're here."

Morning Glory backed up then and she stepped on a twig that happened to be in the cave. It cracked.

"Who's in here?!" Sunny demanded. She turned around and saw Morning Glory and Lily in the cave.

"We were just leaving," Morning Glory said as she and Lily took to the air. They darted away. Sunny grinded her teeth and followed them.

"Come back here!" she demanded. "I'll teach you!"

"Keep going, Morning Glory!" Lily shouted. "Don't stop until we reach Paradise Estate!"

"Right, Lily!" Morning Glory shouted.

Sunny flew after them, but they got away.

"I'll get you, Flutter Ponies," she said. "I'll get you!"

Morning Glory and Lily flew as fast as they could. However, they didn't make it to Paradise Estate. They stopped on a rainbow.

"I just had an idea!" Lily said. "Instead of asking the little ponies for help, we'll go down the rainbow and get Megan's help!"

"Good idea, Lily!" Morning Glory said. "Let's go!"

The two Flutter Ponies followed the rainbow to the other side, but they didn't land at Megan's home. They ended up on the beach.

"This doesn't look like where Megan lives," Morning Glory said. "Where's her barn?"

"I don't know," Lily said. "But maybe we can find help here. Look, there's a house. Maybe someone's inside."

Morning Glory and Lily flew up to the beach house window. Morning Glory looked in and smiled.

"Look!" she shouted. "It's Mike! You remember when Fizzy, Gusty, and Surprise introduced us to the Monkees?"

"Yeah," Lily said. "We have to get him to open the window!"

The two Flutter Ponies tapped on the window. Mike was sitting on a stool, playing his guitar. He heard the tapping and looked over. He threw his guitar down on the ground and opened the window.

"What's goin' on?" he asked. Morning Glory and Lily flew in.

"You have to help us," Lily said. "An evil Flutter Pony named Sunny kidnaped Rosedust and she hypnotized the other Flutter Ponies!"

"She took over Flutter Valley," Morning Glory said. "Sunny tricked the other Flutter Ponies to make them think she's our queen instead of Rosedust! You and the others just have to come!"

"Well, the others aren't here," Mike said. "Davy went out on a date and Peter and Micky are out shopping. I'm the only one here. But maybe I can help you guys."

Suddenly there was a loud banging on the door. Mike panicked.

"Oh no," he said. "Both of you stand still. Don't move and don't blink, no matter what. Stay perfectly still."

"Why?" Morning Glory asked.

"That's probably the landlord," Mike explained. "He doesn't allow pets. Just stay still!"

Morning Glory and Lilly stood still. Mike opened the door and his guess was right. It was the Monkees' landlord, Mr. Babbit.

"Hiya, Mr. Babbit," Mike said. "Anything I can do for you?"

"Who were you talking to?" Mr. Babbit asked.

"No one. It was just the TV."

"What are those?"

Mike turned to look at whatever Mr. Babbit was looking at. It happened to be the two Flutter Ponies.

"Just a couple of miniature merry-go-round ponies," Mike said. "See, a friend of mine's givin' a birthday party for his niece and I thought I'd rent the two ponies here for her and her friends to ride on for a few hours."

"They certainly look real," Mr. Babbit said, knocking Morning Glory on the head. Thankfully, she didn't move. Mr. Babbit left. Mike waited until the cost was clear.

"Okay, guys," he said. "You can relax now."

"Ow!" Morning Glory said. "That hurt!"

"I bet," Mike said. "Shall we go to Ponyland?"

"Yeah," Lily said. "Hop on."

"I hope you can carry me," Mike said. "I may be skinny and scrawny and boney, but don't let that fool ya. I'm pretty heavy."

"Don't worry about that. Let's just go."

Mike mounted Lily and she took off. Morning Glory followed and they flew over the rainbow back to Ponyland. Morning Glory led the way to Flutter Valley. They landed behind a large rock.

"Which one's Sunny?" Mike asked.

"That one," Lily said, pointing her hoof. "The sort of orange-y red with the yellow hair."

"Get a move on, Flutter Ponies!" Sunny shouted. "Bring me as many flowers as you can!"

"Yes, Queen Sunny," the other Flutter Ponies said.

"That gal is a one pony picnic," Mike said. "Does she know you two aren't hypnotized?"

"Yes," Morning Glory said. "We have to be careful."

"I know," Lily said. "She might do something terrible to Rosedust."

"This is gonna be harder than I thought," Mike said. "I need to think about this."

Mike started to think about what to do. Lily and Morning Glory did the same thing. Nothing came to mind. Then they decided to spy on Sunny to see what she was going to do.

"Now that Rosedust's out of the way," she said, "I can get rid of this stupid Valley. This place needs a good run down, anyway. I'll just bury the Sun Stone."

"Oh no!" Morning Glory said. "If she buries the Sun Stone, Flutter Valley will be no more!"

"That's definitely not good," Mike said. "Where is the Sun Stone?"

"Over there," Lily replied. "But she probably can't move it. It weighs a ton!"

"Yeah," Morning Glory said. Then she started laughing. That attracted Sunny. She flew over to the rock.

"Ah ha!" she shouted.

"Uh oh," Lily said. "Let's get out of here!"

Mike jumped on Lily's back and she took off. Morning Glory followed. They flew away from Flutter Valley, faster than Sunny could chase them.

"I know how to stop them," she said. "I'm going to pay a little visit to Bumble Land."

Sunny flew off. She made it to Bumble Land and immediately noticed all the bees were bringing in flowers to Bumble, their queen. She and Sunny were old friends, believe it or not.

"Hey, Bumble," Sunny said. "I have a proposition for you."

"What kind of proposition?" Bumble asked.

"I'll give you Flutter Valley if you catch two Flutter Ponies and a friend."

"But where will the other Flutter Ponies go?"

"They'll follow me to wherever I want them to go. I just need you to get two Flutter Ponies who got away from me. Will you do it?"

"Let me get this straight. If I catch two Flutter Ponies, you'll give me Flutter Valley?"

"Yep."

"Deal."

Bumble called her swarm together and started a search. At that time, Lily, Morning Glory, and Mike made it back to Flutter Valley. They found it deserted.

"Where is everybody?" Morning Glory asked.

"Probably servin' Sunny," Mike said. "Other than that, I have no idea."

"I don't like this," Lily said. "It seems a bit too quiet, you know?"

"I know," Mike said. "It's down right creepy."

"But I don't think there's anything to worry about," Morning Glory said. "Just because things are quiet doesn't mean they're bad!"

Mike was about to say something when he heard buzzing in the distance.

"Hey," he said. "Is that a vacuum cleaner?"

"Sounds more like bees," Morning Glory said. Then she realized what she said.

"Bees?!" she and Lily screamed at the same time.

"What's the big deal?" Mike asked.

"Look!" Morning Glory cried. Mike looked in the direction that Morning Glory was looking in and nearly had a heart attack.

"Holy guacamole, what in the wide world of sports is that?!" he shouted.

"That's Bumble and her bees!" Lily said. "They stole the Sun Stone once."

"But I thought she was going to be nice!" Morning Glory said.

"She probably lied," Lily said. "We have to fly out of here!"

"Then what are we waitin' for? Christmas?" Mike asked, jumping on Lily. "Let's get a move on!"

Lily and Morning Glory took off. Bumble instructed her swarm to follow them. The bees were catching up to them.

"I don't think I can fly much longer," Morning Glory said.

"Me neither," Lily said. "The bees are catching up."

"Maybe we can hide behind somethin'," Mike said. "Check it out down there."

Mike pointed to a forest. Lily and Morning Glory went for it and hid. The bees searched and searched, but they couldn't find anything. So they flew back to Flutter Valley. Mike, Lily, and Morning Glory breathed of relief.

"Now what do we do?" Lily asked. "Sunny probably told Bumble to take over Flutter Valley and to chase us."

"Makes sense if you ask me," Mike said. "The problem is getting back in there without those bees chasin' us."

"I know someone who can help us," Morning Glory said. "But we have to go to Bumble Land to get him. Come with me, Mike. Lily, you go back to Flutter Valley and try to keep out of sight."

"Check," Lily said.

"I hope you know what you're doin'," Mike said, climbing on Morning Glory.

"I hope so, too," Morning Glory said, and she took to the air.

The two of them had to fly toward Flutter Valley to get to Bumble Land. Unfortunately, the bees saw them.

"Uh oh," Lily said. "Scatter!"

She flew in one direction and Morning Glory flew in another. The bees forgot about Lily and began to chase after Mike and Morning Glory.

"They're gaining on us!" Mike shouted. "You've got to fly faster, Mornin' Glory!"

"I know," Morning Glory said. "But I can barely flap my wings!"

"The bees will get us any minute! Just flap as hard as you can!"

"Okay."

Morning Glory put her entire concentration into flapping her wings. She was concentrating so hard she didn't notice the tree directly in her path and she crashed into it. She and Mike plummeted down. Morning Glory landed in the bucket of an old well, and Mike fell right on top of her, causing the bucket to fly down to the bottom of the well.

"Whoa!" Mike and Morning Glory shouted in perfect unison as they flew down. Bumble's right hand bee, Pointer, looked down the well and smiled.

"Let's go back!" he shouted. "That Flutter Pony will never get out of there!"

Pointer took off, laughing. The other bees followed and they all went back to Flutter Valley to tell Bumble the good news. Morning Glory and Mike climbed out of the bucket and looked around.

"How are we going to get out of here?" Morning Glory asked. "My wings are soaked. I can't fly out."

"Maybe I can climb out," Mike said. "Then you get in the bucket and I'll pull you out."

"That sounds like a good plan."

"Wish me luck."

"Good luck, Mike."

Mike started climbed up the well. It wasn't easy since the wall was smooth and there really wasn't any ledges to grab. Nonetheless, Mike grabbed onto the bricks and did his best to climb out, just using his arms. However, he tried to use his feet to help himself out, but the soles of his boots made walking up the smooth brick seem like walking on oil and he slipped and fell into the water with a giant splash, soaking Morning Glory even more.

"I'm sorry about that, Mornin' Glory," he said. "I didn't mean to soak your wings more than they already were."

"That's okay, Mike," Morning Glory said. "But how are we going to get out of here?"

"Maybe Lily will come help us."

"I don't think so, Mike. She's all the way at Flutter Valley. She thinks we'll be back any minute."

"That's my point. When she sees we're not comin' back, she'll come look for us and then she'll help us out of here. It's as simple as that."

Morning Glory nodded. They waited for what seemed like hours, and nobody was coming. Suddenly, they heard the sound of buzzing.

"Oh no," Mike said. "The bees are back."

"Maybe not," Morning Glory said, listening carefully. "It's just one bee."

"So what? That's one too many if you ask me."

"But it could be my friend, Sting, and he'll help us out."

"You're friends with one of those bees?"

"Please trust me, Mike. This might be our only chance to get out of this well and save Flutter Valley."

"Okay. Call up there and see if it's the guy."

Morning Glory climbed in the bucket and called.

"Hello?!" she shouted. "Um, is anyone up there?!"

"Morning Glory?" a voice came from outside the well. "Is that you?"

"Sting, is that you?" Morning Glory said.

"Yeah. What are you doing down there, Morning Glory?"

"Drowning!" Mike shouted. "Listen, can you get us out of here?"

"Yeah, sure," Sting said. "I'll have you guys out of there in a flash."

Within minutes, Mike and Morning Glory were out of the well. Morning Glory shook herself dry.

"Thanks Sting," she said. "Oh, I almost forgot. Mike, this is my friend Sting. Sting, this is Mike. He's a friend of the little ponies back at Dream Valley."

"Hi," Mike said.

"Hi," Sting said. "You'd better get to Flutter Valley fast! Bumble's completely taken over and is tearing up all the flowers."

"Oh no," Mike groaned. "Let's go."

Morning Glory, Mike, and Sting went to Flutter Valley as fast as they could. Lily was hiding behind a rock, watching the whole thing.

"Where have you been?" she asked.

"You wouldn't believe us if we told you," Mike said. "What's goin' on?"

"The bees are ruining our valley, that's what," Lily said. "And if we try to stop them, they'll chase us away!"

"I don't think they can go and chase us forever," Mike said. "I have a feelin' Sunny put 'em up to it."

"She did," Sting said. "She wants Bumble to get you guys out of the way."

"Well, we've got a head start," Mike said. "Sting, you're a perfect double agent. You go out there and see what Bumble's up to and then while you're keepin' her busy, Lily, Mornin' Glory, and I will sneak into the valley and look for Sunny and the other Flutter Ponies."

"Okay," Sting said, and he flew into Flutter Valley.

Mike, Morning Glory, and Lily waited patiently until sun down. Then they made their move, sneaking into the valley. Unfortunately, they hadn't counted on the bees to be prepared for a move like this. They dropped a honeycomb on them.

"Uh oh," Mike said. "Somethin' tells me we blew it. How are we gonna get out of this one?"

"Maybe we can use Utter Flutter and blast out of here," Morning Glory said.

"There's only two of us, Morning Glory" Lily said. "I don't know if it'll work."

"But we have to try, Lily. Let's go."

"Okay."

Morning Glory and Lily shifted to Utter Flutter and did their best to blast open the honeycomb, but Bumble was prepared yet again. She dropped honey on Mike and the two Flutter Ponies.

"Oh no!" Lily shouted. "My wings are covered!"

"So are mine," Morning Glory said.

"I guess there's no way out of this one," Mike said. "Yeeccchh, I'm all sticky."

"But at least you can move, Mike," Lily said. "And you're skinny enough to get out through that hole."

"What do you want me to do?" Mike asked, climbing up the wall. "Get through the hole and run for help?"

"That's a good plan," Morning Glory said. "See if you can find Sting. He'll get us out of here."

"All right," Mike sighed and squeezed out of the hole. He climbed down the other side of the honeycomb, trying not to attract the bees' attention. He snuck around Flutter Valley in order to find Sting. Every single bee was asleep, except Sting, who was circling around. Mike whistled.

"Hey, Sting!" he called, as quietly as he could. "Down here!"

"Yeah?" Sting asked.

"Come with me," Mike said. "Lily and Mornin' Glory need a little help."

Sting followed Mike back to the honeycomb.

"How are you gonna break 'em out?" Mike asked.

"Well, it's not gonna be easy, I can tell ya that," Sting said.

"I've seen honeycombs before. They aren't that sturdy when bashed with a stick, but when bees are around, oh brother are you in trouble!"

"That's it! Mike, go find a tree branch or something and then give the honeycomb a good whack! That might break it."

"Right. And you get some water or somethin' so we can wash the honey off Mornin' Glory and Lily's wings."

Both Sting and Mike were off and they returned at the same time.

"Stand back, girls," Mike said. "I'm gonna smash this open like a pinata."

Mike swung and the honeycomb broke. Morning Glory and Lily ran out of it. Sting managed to find a hose and he sprayed the two Flutter Ponies with it. They shook dry and took to the air.

"Let's move!" Lily shouted.

Mike mounted Morning Glory and she and Sting flew into the air. The four of them flew further into Flutter Valley. They managed to find Sunny's trail and followed it. They had to end her reign over Flutter Valley. Who knows what else she was planning for Ponyland! The first thing they had to do was free Rosedust.

"The two of us just can't defeat Sunny with Utter Flutter," Lily said.

"You guys know where she is?" Mike asked.

"Yes," Morning Glory said. "Let's go."

Mike got on Lily's back and she, Morning Glory, and Sting took to the air. Morning Glory led the way to the cave. The two Flutter Ponies, Mike, and Sting went inside, quietly, just in case Sunny was around. Sting kept watch at the cave. Mike, Morning Glory, and Lily went further inside.

"There she is," Morning Glory said. "Don't worry, Rosedust. We'll have you out of there in a jiffy."

"You mean I'll have her out of there," Mike said. "I'm the only one around here with hands you know."

Morning Glory blushed. Mike cracked his knuckles and walked over to Rosedust.

"This may hurt," he said to her as he found the edge of the duct tape. He yanked as hard as he could.

"OUCH!" Rosedust screamed.

"I warned you," Mike said with a shrug.

"Thanks," Rosedust said. "I don't think I can take keeping my mouth shut for that long."

"No sweat," Mike replied untying Rosedust's hooves. "Okay, everybody, let's split."

"Not yet!" Sting shouted. "She's coming!"

"We've got to hide before it's too late!" Lily shouted.

"It's already too late, Flutter Pony!" Sunny shouted. "I see you're smarter than I thought. Let's see you get out of this trap!"

Sunny flew out of the cave. Morning Glory and Mike walked out and looked up. Sunny was at the top of the cliff and she was trying to push a giant rock down.

"Uh oh," Mike said. "Everybody back up."

Sunny gave the rock one final push and a landslide produced.

"Look out!" Mike shouted.

"Duck!" Lily screamed.

The landslide finally ended, sealing Sting, Mike, and the three Flutter Ponies inside the cave.

"Get out of that if you can," Sunny said. Then she flew away laughing.

"How long can we last before our air runs out?" Morning Glory asked. Mike looked around.

"I'd say a couple hours," Mike said. "Nonetheless, we've got to get out of here before then."

"How?" Sting asked. "We can't move those rocks."

"As much as I hate to say it, you guys," Mike said, "we're trapped."

The three Flutter Ponies sighed. There was no way out of the cave. They couldn't move the rocks by themselves, that was for sure!

"We're going to run out of air in a couple of hours," Lily said. "Anybody know if there are any secret tunnels around here?"

"It's so dark, I can't see anything," Morning Glory replied.

"Well, I guess I could shed a little light on the situation, but it won't help much," Mike said, taking a cigarette lighter out of his pocket, while walking around, looking for a secret opening. The minute he lit it, he fell through a hole in the middle of the cave. Morning Glory zoomed down and caught him before he hit the ground.

"Looks like we found a way out," Mike said. "Everybody down the hole!"

There was no other choice. Rosedust, Lily, and Sting joined Mike and Morning Glory down the hole.

"I wonder where this tunnel leads," Lily said.

"Out, I hope," Sting replied.

"Wait a minute," Mike said. "I think I hear somethin'."

"What?" Rosedust asked.

"Runnin' water," Mike said. "And it's comin' from . . . . over there!"

Mike jumped off Morning Glory's back and ran to a rock. Water was dripping from it.

"Maybe if we all push," Mike said, "we'll be able to move it and get out of here."

"How do you know all this?" Morning Glory asked.

"Eagle Scouts," Mike said, and he began to push. "I've been in a troop for a long time."

Everybody pushed and the rock slowly gave out, but water gushed into the tunnel, like a tidal wave.

"Obviously you weren't in a troop long enough!" Lily shouted.

"So I'm a little rusty," Mike said. "So sue me."

The water swirled around for awhile. It drained into the body of water right below the cave.

"I don't think we'll be able to fly out of here," Rosedust said. "It's very hard for a Flutter Pony to fly when her wings are wet!"

"I know, I know," Mike said.

"Oh well," Morning Glory said. "At least we're not caught in a strong current."

The others had to agree with that one. However, Morning Glory just had to open her mouth. The small current carried them into a larger one and they were swept downstream.

"You and your big mouth!" Mike shouted.

"Heh, heh, heh," Morning Glory laughed, teeth clenched. She was also turning a pleasant shade of pink.

"Hold on, everybody!" Rosedust said. "We could be in for one wild ride!"

The current took Mike, Sting, and the Flutter Ponies down a raging river. Once or twice, one of them would slip under the water, but pop back up again.

"What a way to run a railroad!" Lily shouted.

"What more can happen?" Morning Glory moaned.

"You had to ask!" Mike shouted. "We're headed for a whirl pool!"

"I had to ask," Morning Glory groaned.

The five managed to avoid the whirl pool, but the current swept them further down stream. Finally, they were washed up on the shore of a beach, tired and soaked. Lily crawled around the beach, coughing and spitting water out of her mouth. The others did the same thing.

"Oh boy," Mike groaned, collapsing onto the sand. "That should rival Space Mountain in Disney Land."

"You know," Sting said, "I wouldn't mind doing that again now that I know you can live through it."

"Oh shut up, Sting."

The three Flutter Ponies staggered to Mike and Sting.

"I don't think we'll be able to fly for awhile," Rosedust said. "Our wings are soaked."

"And we're too tired," Morning Glory said.

"Amen to that," Mike said. "I can barely move a muscle."

"Me neither," Sting said.

"It's settled," Mike said. "Let's take a break and then get movin' later."

The others nodded. Mike smiled, rested his head on his arms, and closed his eyes in order to get a decent nap. He figured it would give the Flutter Ponies a chance to dry out their wings. Morning Glory was the first to wake up, and she was surprised to find it was mid morning!

"Rosedust," she said. "It's morning."

"Thank you, Morning Glory," Rosedust said. She tested out her wings. "I think we should be able to fly out of here."

"Lily, Sting, Mike!" Morning Glory called. "Time to wake up!"

"Already?" Sting asked.

"It's too early," Lily whined.

"Ooh, five more minutes, please?" Mike groaned.

"Come on, you big babies," Morning Glory said. "We've got an evil Flutter Pony to stop."

Mike sat up, yawned and stretched. Then he got on Rosedust's back.

"All right," he said. "Let's go."

The fliers took off and flew to Flutter Valley. The bees had left, and no one was sure why. Sunny was tearing the valley apart, with Peach Blossom, Honeysuckle, and Forget-Me-Not helping.

"It's obvious we can't defeat Sunny by ourselves," Rosedust said. "And I don't think Utter Flutter will work without Peach Blossom, Honeysuckle, and Forget-Me-Not."

"Maybe we can go to Dream Valley," Mike said. "The other ponies might be willin' to help."

"Why not?" Morning Glory said.

"Let's go!" Lily shouted.

They took off. However, Sunny spotted them.

"They won't get away that easy," she said. "Flutter Ponies, attack!"

The three remaining Flutter Ponies took to the air.

"Uh oh," Sting said. "Don't look now, but the queen just sicced the army on us."

"Oh great," Mike groaned. "Rosedust, you think you can out maneuver your own troops?"

"I think so," Rosedust said.

"Then let's do it!"

"Gotcha!"

Rosedust flew higher. Honeysuckle went after her as fast as she could. She was able to catch up with the queen of the Flutter Ponies, and she knocked her off to one side.

"Maybe if I weave through the tree branches, I can lose her," Rosedust said, diving down to the woods.

Mike nodded, and Rosedust began weaving through the branches of the trees. Mike ducked and dodged to avoid getting smacked in the head by them. Once they were out, they regrouped.

"Now what do we do?" Lily asked.

"We need help," Mike said. "There's only one thing we can do. Back to the Pad!"

Mike, Sting, and the three Flutter Ponies found the rainbow they needed, and flew down it to the Monkees Pad. Mike banged on the window as hard as he could, and Micky came running.

"Mike, where in the world have you been?!" he shouted. "Did you go to Ponyland without us?"

"Yes," Mike said. "Jump on Mornin' Glory and hurry! There isn't a moment to lose!"

"Why not?" Micky asked.

"We'll explain on the way," Rosedust said. "There's no time to explain it now."

Micky shrugged, and climbed on Morning Glory. They explained to him what had been going on.

"So instead of goin' to Paradise Estate, because I think they'll be expectin' us to go there," Mike said, finishing up. "We decided to come down and get you."

"And I thought this was going to be a boring day," Micky said.

"We'll have to go through the woods again to get backk," Rosedust said.

"Better duck, Micky," Mike said.

"Huh?" Micky asked.

Of course, Micky didn't duck, and he ended up smacking his head on a low tree branch. WHACK!"

"Yahhh!" Micky shouted.

"I told you to duck," Mike said.

"Yeah, thanks," Micky said, rubbing his head. "Ow! Man, that hurt!"

The group flew to Flutter Valley. It still looked pretty much the same, only deserted.

"Where'd everybody go?" Mike asked.

The others shrugged, and began to look around. Morning Glory spotted some sort of building made out of crystal and mirrors in the distance.

"Hey, look over here!" she called to the others.

"Looks like some kinda crazy greenhouse," Micky said, as he and the others walked inside.

"A greenhouse that's also a house of mirros," Mike said. "I don't like the looks of this, you guys. I think maybe we'd better . . . ."

Before  Mike could go any farther, the door slammed shut, and locked. An evil cackle was heard shortly afterwards.

"I knew you'd come, Flutter Ponies," Sunny said. "Now you and your friends will fry!"

"Wha?" Micky asked.

"Oh no," Morning Glory groaned. Sunny flew off, cackling madly. Everyone began to panic.

"We're gonna fry!" Lily shouted. "How do we get out of here?"

"Man, if I weren't sufferin' from lack of ideas!" Mike screamed. The heat inside the mirror prison was making him so irritable he actually punched one of the mirrors! The result was a small hole in the glass.

"Hey, I think I may have somethin' here," he said, realizing what just happened. "You Flutter Ponies think you can kick down the mirrors?"

"I think so," Lily said.

"So kick!" Mike said.

Rosedust, Lily, and Morning Glory stood at the opening and, using their hind legs, kicked down the glass.

"Mike, I never thought I'd say this," Micky said, "but thank goodness you lost your temper!"

"Let's just get out of here and stop Sunny," Mike said, climbing on Lily's back.

Micky nodded and climbed on Morning Glory. Sting and the three Flutter Ponies took off. They hid behind a group of rocks, watching Honeysuckle, Peach Blossom, and Forget-Me-Not tear up the flowers. That was another one of Sunny's orders. She wanted to make Flutter Valley her own personal shrine to herself.

"How do we stop her?" Micky asked.

"First we get the other three out of that trance," Mike said. "And I know how to do it. You guys have a garden hose?"

"Sure," Lily said. "But what is it for?"

"You'll see," Mike said.

The Flutter Ponies gave Mike the garden hose. Micky held onto another end.

"Now you three distract Sunny," Mike said to Rosedust, Morning Glory, and Lily. "And Micky and I'll get Peach Blossom, Honeysuckle, and Forget-Me-Not out of their trances."

"Right," Morning Glory said. "And Sting, you turn on the hose."

"Check," Sting said.

Rosedust, Morning Glory, and Lily flew into the air.

"Hey Sunny!" Lily shouted. "Bet you can't catch us!"

"Not without calling in the calvary!" Rosedust laughed.

"Why you . . . I oughta," Sunny said, grinding her teeth. She flew into the air and chased after the three Flutter Ponies. Meanwhile, Micky and Mike inched closer to the other three with the hose.

"Hey, Flutter Ponies!" Micky called. "Looks like you could use a drink!"

That was Sting's cue. He turned on the hose and a giant stream of water drenched Honeysuckle, Forget-Me-Not, and Peach Blossom. That broke them out of their trance. They coughed and sputtered out water.

"What was that?" Honeysuckle asked.

"Sorry about that," Mike said. "But it was the only way to break you out of your trances."

"What happened?" Peach Blossom asked.

"Where are Lily, Rosedust, and Morning Glory?" Forget-Me-Not asked.

"They're distracting Sunny," Mike said, climbing on Peach Blossom. "You've got to stop her."

"You guys gotta team up and do whatever it is you guys do to stop evil Flutter Ponies," Micky said, climbing on Forget-Me-Not.

"Makes sense," Honeysuckle said. "Let's go!"

"Wait a minute," Peach Blossom said. "We can't do anything when our wings are wet! We have to dry off, first!"

"Oh yeah," Honeysuckle said, blushing.

Within minutes, the three Flutter Ponies flew into the air and caught up with Rosedust, Lily, and Morning Glory.

"Time to stop you, your not so royal highness!" Honeysuckle shouted.

"How'd you get out of your trances?!" Sunny shouted.

"Never mind," Rosedust said. "Come on, Flutter Ponies! Shift to Utter Flutter!"

The Flutter Ponies shifted. Micky and Mike watched in amazement as they pushed Sunny away from them.

"How do they do that?" Micky asked.

"Practice, I guess," Mike said, shrugging.

"Give it all you got, Flutter Ponies!" Rosedust shouted.

The Flutter Ponies actually managed to knock Sunny out of the sky and still they used Utter Flutter on her. Within moments, she shrank down to the size of a horse fly!

"Help me! Help me!" she shouted.

"Whoa!" Micky shouted. "That's really some powerful stuff you Flutter Ponies got."

"Eh, it was nothing," Honeysuckle said.

"How do you guys do it?" Mike asked.

"Practice," all the Flutter Ponies said in perfect unison.

"Well, ask a silly question, get a silly answer," Mike replied.

"Hey, look at Sunny," Sting said. "She's small enough to squash!"

"Yeah," Mike said. "In fact, that's not a bad idea."

"Please don't squash me! Please!" Sunny pleaded. "Please!"

"Oh relax!" Mike shouted. "I wasn't gonna squash ya!"

Everyone laughed and relaxed.

"Well," Morning Glory said, heading back to Flutter Valley. "All's well that ends well."

"Yep," Mike said. "All's well that ends . . ."

CRUNCH! After that came a very tiny scream. Mike got a sick look on his face and dared to look down. Once he did, he grimaced. He accidently squashed Sunny!

"Oh the humanity!" Morning Glory shouted.

"Bleah!" Micky shouted.

"Oops," Mike said.

"Well, there is one good thing about that," Honeysuckle said.

"What's that?" Micky asked.

"We won't have to worry about her again."

"True."

Everyone laughed and went back to Flutter Valley. Lily and Morning Glory took Mike and Micky back to the beach house, 1966. Davy and Peter saw them in the window.

"Next time you decide to go to Ponyland without us, leave a note," Davy said. "What 'ave you been doing the past two days, Mike?"

"Savin' Flutter Valley from an evil Flutter Pony," Mike said. "I'll explain the details later. Anyway, she won't be back."

"Yeah," Micky said. "We'll never see her again."

"Thank goodness for that," Mike said, sitting down. "I never want to see that Flutter Pony again for as long as I live!"

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Davy answered.

"Oh, 'ello, Mr. Babbit," he said. "What 'ave you got on the string?"

"You boys know a lot about little kids, right?" Mr. Babbit asked.

"Yeah," Micky said. "Why?"

"Well, I got a birthday present for my six-year-old niece and I wanted someone's opinion on it," Mr. Babbit said, pulling the string in. On the other end was a toy pony, about the size of a Flutter Pony, and it was orange with yellow mane and tail, with a sun on it's hind quarters. It was the spitting image of Sunny.

"Oh no!" Mike and Micky shouted in unison. Then they fainted.

"What's with them?" Mr. Babbit asked.

"I 'ave no idea, Mr. Babbit," Davy said. "I 'ave absolutely no idea."

The End (or is it?)
